Day by Day Itinerary
Transfer from your hotel to Urubamba town where we stop briefly, before going on to Chillca to start the trek.Lunch in Miskay plus an additional half an hour to rest, before we start our trip to the first camp. On the way we will visit the archaeological site of Llactapata.
After breakfast we start trekking to the highest point on the Inca Trail, where we can see different ecological zones and enjoy changing climates. We cross the Warmiwañusca pass at 4,200 m.a.s.l. After lunch, we continue to the camp in Pacaymayo. Dinner.
It takes 45 minutes to reach the second pass at 3,850 m.a.s.l. after a previous visit to Runcuracay. We will also visit the Sayacmarca archaeological remains, then go on to the Phuyupatamarca ruins. After lunch we go on to Wiñay Wayna, where we have our last camp.
Trekking to Machu Picchu. When we get to Inti Punku, we have a panoramic view of Machu Picchu. When we get to the citadel itself, we register before taking a three-hour guided tour of Machu Picchu.. Then we take the bus to Aguas Calientes town where you have some free time before finally returning to Cuzco.
